SCRUBS FOR EPSOM & ST. HELIER
Grace & Izzy
Grace 9yrs and Izzy 8yrs, were due to run the Westminster Mile. When it was rescheduled they decided to run it anyway and raise money for Scrubs. They did a co-ordinated socially distanced finish and ended up raising over £700.
This is from their Just Giving page:
'Grace and Izzy loved completing the Westminster Mile last year but sadly the event scheduled on 24th May this year has been postponed due to the current COVID-19 outbreak. They wanted to do something to help our amazing key workers so have decided to run a mile on the same day locally to raise money for ”Scrubs for Epsom and St Helier” to help buy desperately needed material. They will run separately but finish at the same time in a field for a socially distancing finishing picture !
”Scrubs for Epsom and St Helier” is made up of volunteers making scrubs, wash bags and other protective equipment for healthcare professionals within the Epsom and St Helier healthcare trust area, during the Covid-19 pandemic.
This equipment is important to help protect both practitioners and patients. The wash bags are needed for staff to take home their used scrubs more safely as they can go straight into the washing machine.
They are all volunteering their time and expertise but have nowhere near enough and need funds to buy more material.
Any surplus money raised that is not needed for fabric supplies during this crisis will be donated to an NHS charity. Please give whatever you can afford - even a few pounds can be enough to make a set of scrubs.'
