SCRUBS FOR EPSOM & ST. HELIER
Ethel MacPepple - Jaja
When the pandemic hit, I saw on the news the shortage of PPE and that many of the NHS doctors, nurses, staff were dying from contracting Covid-19.
I had received such wonderful care and attention myself when I had been a patient previously, I had to do something to help. As a fashion designer, I was very happy that I could use my sewing skills to make a positive contribution.
I joined two Facebook groups; Scrubs for Epsom & St Helier and PRUH hospital~Hayes/Bromley sewing group and got going.
I also ended up sending an order to America. My cousin is a medical nurse there, working with Covid patients. She knew I was making PPE and was having difficulty sourcing PPE due to their lockdown, so she asked if I could help. It was lovely to be able to supply her direct with the much needed hats and masks.
